On This Karva Chauth Be 'THE GORGEOUS DIVA'

Karva Chauth is the most auspicious day in a married woman’s life.   Women keep strict fast on this day, when they do not even drink a drop of water.  This fast is kept for the longetivity , well-being and prosperity of their husband.  Karva Chauth comes in the month of October-November (Hindi month – Karthik) i.e. 9 days before Diwali on 'kartik ki chauth'.  Women get up early in the morning on this day, perform their ablutions, and wear new and festive clothes.
The whole day remain as a festival for them.  Their love for their husband can be seen in their eyes as without eating or drinking anything, they look the most gorgeous.
In the evening, women dress up in special clothes, usually a red or pink sari or 'lehenga-choli' with gold woven 'zari' patterns. They also wear matching nail color, makeup, fragrance to just look like a newly wedded bride.  Many things are available in market to help them look perfect such as good bath-body, temporary tattoos (mehandi), handbags, scarves etc. Decorative ‘bindis’ on the forehead are a must.  Every woman wants to look perfect for her perfect husband.
Fasting women from all over the neighborhood gather in a group and narrate mythological stories that underscore the significance of Karva Chauth. And, of course, husbands also give expensive gifts to show their love for their wives.

The fast of Karva Chauth truly increase the love and coziness in the sweet & sour relationship of husband and wife.
